Newton had many books printed with the printing press that helped him formulate his theories, If the ideas of other scholars hadn’t been preserved, then newton may not have come up with his theories. The printing press had a humongous effect on Humanism and Science. Another great element the printing press has an impact on was the spread of literacy. Before the invention of the printing press books were very expensive and rare, most Europeans lived their whole lives without ever seeing a book. This meant more people could have books and they were a lot cheaper. Now people could learn to read from the books they owned, which rose the amount literacy in Europe.
Guttenberg invented the printing press for personal reasons, but he also created it so people could have their own personal bibles. The Printing press also spread the ideas of Martin Luther. According to Excerpts from Luther’s 95 Theses, he believed that the selling indulgences was wrong. Luther thought the Catholic Church was being greedy and taking money from the poor. The printing press helped spread Luther’s ideas, which converted many more people to protestantism. Guttenberg's invention changed life the way we know it. Without him we may not have all the advancements in science or math that we have today. We also may have missed out on the knowledge of history that was preserved with Guttenberg's invention. His ideas spread many important things throughout europe in the 16th century.
