Kennedy was believed to be one of the most influential and charismatic presidents in the history of the United States. However, although he was thought to be a fair leader, his level of integrity and ethical behavior were in questioned due to the numerous scandals and alleged affairs revealed. Northouse (2013) defined ethics as being concerned with morals and values that a person or society finds appropriate. President Kennedy’s conduct definitively affected his character. He allowed immoral decisions in his personal life to penetrate his presidency. Some of the alleged affairs were with women such Inge Arvad, who was suspected of having Nazi connections. Regardless of the nature of the affairs, John F. Kennedy unethical desires in personal life, some would argue, indeed affected his decisions in his reign as president.
Another leader that displayed the lack of integrity and ethical behavior was Martha Stewart. Martha Stewart was a successful business woman who was well like by many Americans. She was known as a television personality, for her famous recipes and author. However, Martha was accused of inside trading and was convicted and sent to jail.
