School lunches are often the unsung heroes of many modern American households. Frequently overlooked and disregarded because of their stigma, school lunches are a key ingredient that may help make the world a better place. Unknowingly, great numbers of individuals in our communities deal with food insecurities every day of their lives. With the help of our school’s Latin Club, we were able to secure a bus, fill it with over 1.5 tons of food, and drive it to the South Jersey Food Bank. While this event was rewarding, it also provided the impetus for establishing a food pantry in our school; providing supplies for any student in need. Pack the Bus has taught me to continue having an impact on those around me. No matter how things are going in your life, you can always help out those around you. Reflecting back on my own experiences and learning about those of Josiah DuBois, I did learn a very important lesson, that human beings are human beings. We all need to work together to help the greater good of society and take action against the obstacles that are oppressing
