My decision on returning to school was based on numerous reasons. I am currently working at a convenient store in my hometown, where I do not have any medical insurance or retirement plan. I got to thinking real hard about my future, what I wanted for my life. Where I work now there is an older woman that work’s with me, is in her seventies and still has to work because she made the decision not to have an education to fall back on. Many people doubted my decision to go back to school, because they thought at 32 I was too old and would not be able to manage the responsibility. After a lot of thought about returning to school, online college was my only option since I have 2 children and a fulltime job. I did extensive research and found many online schools that had good credentials and fit the career path I was interested in; eventually I chose Ashford University.
My family means the world to me, and being financially stable is one of my top priorities to make their lives better. With the knowledge I have, I know that returning to school would be the best way to make sure that we would be financially stable and my family would never have to do without.
