Julie James Characteristics

In the book, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” by Lois Duncan, One of the the main characters , Julie James , is described as intelligent. Julie is intelligent because she understands what she had done , and wants to go help the situation instead of just leaving. For example, right after Julie and her friends hit the little boy on the bike , she says, “The little boy! We’ve got to go help him!”(Duncan 47). After they hit the boy they realized what they had just done, so they were planning to just leave him lying there and say it was a hit and run. Julie heard this plan and wouldn’t let it happen she said to call the police. She made her boyfriend Ray call the police and say it was a hit and run so they wouldn't get in any trouble and the boy
would receive help for his injuries. If, she hadn’t of said anything they would have just let the little boy lay there and die instead he went to the hospital and was cared for.
