She believes in no excuses, as doing so is an insult to the family and is utterly unfair. By excusing a child’s criminal behavior, the justice system is deviating for what it stands for. Wilde uses the story of Jordan Brown to further fuel her argument. She suggests that Brown was fully aware of what he was doing when he murdered. Wilde claims Brown acted out of “jealously,” by included the quotes and implying negative connotations, it trivializes the situation in that it leaves Brown in a vulnerable position.
