Karl Marx's Conflict Theory

Conflict theory focuses on the sharing of resources such as power and views social life as a competition.
Some of the key elements in this perspective are that society is structured to benefit a few (mostly those in power) at the expense of the majority, also factors such as class, race, age and sex are linked to social inequality.
Karl Marx believed in order for humans to survive we have to work, and that people either own the property or you work for someone who does.
The Conflict theory has been criticized for its focus on change and neglect of social stability as the change is very little compare to the social stability.
