He was away hunting for 3 days at least. To get the meats he needs for him, his mother, anyone in the village, he had to kill a bear by tricking him into dying. Keesh finally got meats from the killed bear he had tricked into dying and brought it back to his village for everyone to have For the story of Life of Pi, Pi didn’t have any food or water on the lifeboat and without water, he would die of thirst. He found food and water and started eating and drinking before he died of thirst.
Keesh and Pi had to live in different areas of living. Keesh living in the arctic with his mom and other villagers, and Pi living in a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with a tiger named Richard Parker. It's cold and wintery in the Arctic where Keesh lives and he can’t really do much outside of his white shiny big igloo with his mother and other villagers. Living there, he can get killed by wild bears and other animals living there too. For Pi, living on a lifeboat on the ocean with a wild tiger onboard, is just stressed full.
