With using the sample that they have, they would put the painting under a light microscope During the time of this crime, forensic scientists would compare the color, thickness and texture of the paints before they know that paints can be analyzed under a microscope. These techniques would have influenced the case a huge bunch. The FBI agents could have compared the paints now vs/ paints from the past and looked at them under a microscope. They would have been able to notice which one is fake and which one
