Having worked at this particular museum for four years, and knowing the collections and programs well, it seems the mission does not best reflect the actions and practices currently put in place. This, I believe, is stated well and clearly in the mission statement. The Kennedy Museum of Art’s focus and drive is to engage with, not only art students from the University, but also taking and transforming the museum to encompass a multidiscipline view on art. Besides giving students the basic understanding and appreciation for art, just this fall the Museum will feature an exhibition dedicated to Visual Thinking Strategies. The primary motivation is to bring nursing and premedical studies students to the museum. Research has suggested viewing and describing what you see in a work of art can help these students practice and enhance their diagnostic skills in the
