However, Clerks' narrative is filled with sharp, funny dialogue, and people seem to have an emotional attachment to it. Meanwhile, Yoga Hosers jokes and narrative falls flat. For some reason, Smith seemed to think it would be HILARIOUS if everyone spoke with a super stereotypical Canadian accent, which I’m certain no one has found funny since the south park film came out. Also, every time Johnny Depp appears onscreen a mole is in a different place on his face, Ralph Garman delivers a series of cringe worthy celebrity impressions literally every time he opens his mouth, and on top of that there are Satanists wanting to sacrifice the Colleens to please their leader (apparently, Smith was high af when he wrote the film – that’s an actual fact). The Colleens were also stereotyped. The Colleens were basically everything that older generations hate about my generation; always on their phones, hates everyone and thinks everything is basic. I can only assume that Kevin thought it would enhance the comedy of the film as well as relate to the target demo such as myself. Lily-rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith play their parts well. Both are funny and spirited and their real-life friendship shines through, which made the film more enjoyable, but Kevin Smith’s lack of narrative and vison fails to bring the best out of them as they were overshadowed by the dumb story which just
