King Jehu Chapter 2 Analysis

Haggai- The basic literary genre of the book of Haggai is prophecy. The book of Haggi is a historical narrative that was written around 520 B.C. (Bible Hub). It is said to be one of the most precisely dated books in the entire Bible. The purpose of this book was Haggai’s testimony of encouragement. “King Jehu was the tenth king of the separate kingdom of Israel.”(Gleanings, Paragraph 1) Jehu, officer in Ahab’s bodyguard, was anointed by Prophet Elisha to destroy Baal worship. Jehu was considered an evil king and did not seek God with all of his heart, but he was obedient. For his obedience, Jehu was rewarded with the longest dynasty in Israel 's history.
