Chapter One: Down Is Up
➢ John the Baptist and Mary mention prophesies about the kingdom. o John the Baptist’s prophecy includes four surprises:
• Full valleys
• Flat mountains
• Straight curves
• Level bumps o Mary’s prophecy mentioned that:
• Rulers of the old kingdom will not longer become rulers in the new kingdom.
• The lower class in the new kingdom will be lifted from their debts/living status.
➢ Two kingdoms o Kingdom of God
• Inverted kingdom and a relational kingdom
• Many descriptions of the Kingdom of God o Kingdom of the World
➢ The people are the ones who are to try create a better Kigdom
➢ The people living in the Kingdom have full surprises, which has led many to push themselves from Jesus.

The Kingdom of God was built for God and for the people to form a close relationship with Him. When presented with the Kingdom of God, the people are able to become better people and spread kindness to others, living in the way in which He wants them to. Living in kindness and spreading it throughout the Kingdom, will lead to peace and the God being the center of the Kingdom.

Chapter Two: Mountain Politics
➢ Kings were cruel to the Jews
➢ King Herod – known to be evil king o Remade temple to gain respect from the Jews
• Resulted in the Jews revolting against him o Murdered thousands of Jews, even killing most of his own family o Continued to kill Jews even close to his death
➢ King Herod’s three sons become rulers at the end of his reign o Split up into three kingdoms o Continued to massacre Jews
➢ Chapter included the history about the Kings in the Roman Empire and how the Jews were treated by them
