To be a real friend you have to respect and honor them by always being there for them through thick and thin. In Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini the main character Amir loses a long time friend and feels the need to atone for his mistakes in the friendship. Amir loses his friend, lest him go, and tried to find a way to atone for letting home go. Amir and Hassan grew up together, they had the same father, and fed lived on the same property. Hassan was also Amir’s servant; he would do anything for Amir a thousand times over. In a way they were forced to be friends which caused a rupture in their
