During the Elizabethan era, 1558 to 1603, knights played a huge rule and were very important. Becoming a knight was not was not easy at all. They were important when protecting the land and the people. Without knights there would be no one to protect the magnificent Queen and also others. Knights were very interesting and important to the Elizabethan era and impacted the civilization in many ways.

Nobility and knights were still at the top of the social ladder. These men were rich and powerful, and they had large households (Alchin). There were many plays written and performed based on a knight's life (Alchin). People in this era looked up to knights and respected them because of the services they provided and their bravery. They can be comparable to a modern day soldier fighting overseas. Knights respected everyone and could not and would not speak rudely to anyone, and they used chivalry (Hinds 55). Without knights there would have been no sense of security for the people or the queen. They were more than men who wore their armor and rode horses, they were dominant and important. They may not have been ranked at the very top of the chain of society, but often could have felt like they were. They not only impacted their own time era, but have impacted the hundreds of years to follow. Books and movies are still written and made about them, which proves the importance they played.
