So, MacArthur ambushed the army from all sides, surrounding them while the U.N’s troops fought them head on. They proved as a good distraction.

He wanted China to stay out of the war and to keep the war as short as possible.
However, his general MacArthur, had a plan that made his troops cross the Chinese border.
So, the war was stretched longer and china sent about 300,000 troops to North Korea to aid them in the war. Truman also fired MacArthur for not following orders.
China
They wanted to stay out of the war and keep U.N troops away from their border.
However, U.N’s troops fought along its border and also crossed it.
So, China entered the war by sending troops to aid North Korea.
United Nations
Wanted North Korea and South Korea to have peace as soon as possible.
However, China entered the war and aided North Korea.
So, the U.N chose to find a way to support South Korea.
1.) He was surprised once China sent their troops to North Korea to assist them. He thought he had a perfect plan that was fool proof. Since he was selfish, he didn’t see the risk he was taking by sending troops to the Yalu River. It was his actions that placed China in the war. He was later on, relieved from his duties as general by President Truman.
