However, what about separation of church and state? If abortion was illegal mainly because of religious groups, wouldn’t that be a breach of our first amendment? Pro-life groups feel that fetuses are humans; therefore, the act of abortion is wrong to do. While fetuses have the potential of human life, they are fetuses or embryos. They cannot survive on their own or have any human functions until later in pregnancy when they are usually not aborted.
