Kwantlen Polytechnic University Case Study
Kwantlen Polytechnic University (generally abridged to KPU) is an open degree-conceding undergrad polytechnic college in British Columbia with grounds situated in Surrey, Richmond, Cloverdale, and Langley. KPU is one of the biggest establishments by enrolment in British Columbia with a sum of 20,000 understudies and 1,600 employees over its four areas including the Metro Vancouver disctrict. There were more than 200 proposals in a challenge to name the new South Fraser area school. The triumphant passage "Kwantlen" was put together by Stan McKinnon. "Kwantlen" originates from the name of the Kwantlen First Nation in whose conventional region the college is found. Boss Joe Gabriel of the Kwantlen First Nation gave authorization for the school to utilize the Kwantlen name.

Taking after a commonplace government activity intended to expand access to degree programs in British Columbia, started in 1988, five junior colleges were conceded power to offer baccalaureate degrees. These five establishments—Cariboo, Fraser Valley, Kwantlen, Malaspina, and Okanagan—were renamed college universities.
