I communicate with carers on a day to day basis and always ensure that I am polite and professional. I ensure that relevant information is feed back to all staff to ensure that thy can perform as appropriate. When talking with staff I am constructive as well as to the point. I ensure that all staff are aware that I am approachable. I report to my manager on a daily basis so that they are aware of what is happening, what I have done. I will also communicate with my manager if I need advice on anything. If there is a issue with a client and I need to refer to a GP, Social worker etc I ensure that I have all information to hand and that I speak professionally and clearly.
There are many different types of a team leader and they play many different roles. There is the Leader and tis person ensures that their objectives are clear and that everyone is involved and committed. It is important that each team leader has a good knowledge of the sector that they are working with. Good communication skills is important as well as being a good team player. I also feel that it is important that the team leader can put aside their feelings to deal with any matters or issues that the team is facing.
