La Luna Short Film

La Luna is a short Pixar film, which displays a family’s love, conflict, and tribute to family. The story begins by presenting a young boy, and the honor he has to uphold to please his grandfather and father. Conversely, his family takes him out to sea during the starry night. Shortly, conflicts will arise between who the young boy has to take as a role model or if he will decide to follow his identity. This short film pinpoints the honor and respect one has for family, and how it can cause pressure to pretend to be exactly as that family member.
Excitement rushes through the young boy, as his family is taking him out for his first lesson in the family business and the traditions he is going to need to follow. They take the little boy out into the ocean on a small wooden boat during the dark night. His grandfather and father uphold the tradition of wearing the hat for the job by giving one to the little boy as well. The giving of the hat symbolized the honor of his family because they all do their occupation with a special hat, and being gifted one to start working reflects the footsteps he has to follow in order to keep that honor and make his grandfather and father proud. Specifically, how to carry out the tradition given to him, and do everything exactly like his grandfather and father.
However, a great influence and burden was put upon him, as who he will follow as an example his grandfather or father, and if he will choose to follow his own individuality. Whereas, his grandfather wanted the young boy’s hat a certain way by tilting it to the side and his father another because he wanted the young boy’s hat pressed down to his forehead. A great conflict was among them, due to the fact that the grandfather didn’t want the boy’s hat in the position his father wanted, and his father didn’t want the hat the way the grandfather did. The young boy was bewildered as whom to follow, so he tried his best to mimic the simple gestures at first

His eventual evaluation being that of seeing this as a breaking of bonds with collectivity, an achievable freedom and disregard of the Council. In all terms, this judgment is correct, indifferent to the few flaws it may have. This can be proven through evidence from the book.…

What a sweet story this was! It reminded me so much of Arthur, the show centralized around Arthur the aardvark and his animal friends. I loved the way Cece Bell used a bunny to represent herself- often a shy, timid animal who is prey to many predators often because they’re easy to pick on. Bunnies are also a representation of what she has lost. The giant bunny ears are ironic, which was more than likely done on purpose since this particular physical characteristic of these cute woodland creatures is prominent and noticeable. I love that Bell took her childhood experience of feeling different and often misunderstood and transform it into something approachable and relatable for readers of all ages. El Deafo shows that just because one…

Therefore, I hold the view that parents surely have heavily influence on the development of their children’s characters. Indeed, since being tiny kids, the vast majority of children have had the habits of aping their closest people’s behaviors. In most cases, this plays an extremely vital role in laying the foundations for the life ahead of them. When they grow up, although their thoughts get more and more complicated as a mixture of numerous different ideas and cultures, education from their parents still have an important part in shaping their own characters.…
