Magdalena is the bearded woman who gave a birth to a child at the age of fifties and she worked as a weaver. Her husband had been out of the city for almost nine months or more, and when came back he was surprised that his wife was holding a baby and breastfeeding her and she had a beard. At first, he was angry that the baby would be from Magdalena’s assistant, but she argued with her husband that he was away from her for nine months or more, so he missed her pregnancy period. He believed that there was something wrong with Magdalena being bearded and the baby had black skin which she did not look like any of them, and it was impossible for him to believe that she just had a baby in her fifties. Later he took her to see a priest to discuss about the beard that was suddenly had grown, at the same time a black woman just entered the church to get her daughter who was stolen by Magdalena. After all, it turns out that Magdalen did have a baby, but he died the same as his three previous children. According to Nina Mallory, after Magdalena have given birth to three children at age 37, she started to grow the beard. A new character came and was called Jusepe. He is a painter who is an artist that painted Magdalena with her husband and the baby. Miss. As Miss. Cristina mentioned that this play has some sort of weirdness and fun as well. It was enjoyable to watch the two stories at the same time; the Magdalena and Maggie’s stories. This play was different from The Skin of Our Teeth in which actors and actress did not cooperate with the audience. In this play the actors and actress were acting their roles at the play without cooperating with us. It was such a creative way for telling two stories at the same play in one act with just switching the lights and sounds and move to another story. It was like a time machine traveling through different spaces and times telling how women fights for their rights through different places and periods of
