Lab 1.1 Reading Binary Research Paper
Lab 1.1: Reading Binary
I. 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2. You use the method of subtraction, if you can subtract the number that corresponds with the value you “2” you are dealing with you need to place a 1 under the 2 that corresponds with the number you are subtracting. This is like saying yes the number works. If it doesn’t subtract you place a zero underneath the “2” that you are dealing with, this is like saying “no” it doesn’t represent anything. That is the basic formula for doing binary. With the math diagram I can will show the practice in more detail.
II. 10 is the same as 0010 because in binary a “zero “doesn’t represent a value. It does however represent a “place” so you definitely need to place the “zeroes” in accordingly.

    * The binary numbering system plays a central role in how information of all kinds is stored on the computer. Understanding binary can lift a lot of the mysteries from computers because at a fundamental level they're really just machines for flipping binary digits on and off. There are several activities on binary numbers in this document, all simple enough that they can be used to teach the binary system to anyone who can count! Generally children learn the binary system very quickly using this approach, but we find that many adults are also excited when they finally understand what bits…

Up until now, things had been fairly straightforward. Then, once I hit the ‘two’ box, things began to get more complicated. Here, I couldn’t put four or three because two of the boxes had already been filled, and I couldn’t change that. Then, I tried two. This could work, but only if there was a two elsewhere. I couldn’t put a two in the ‘one’ box, but I could put it in the zero box, because of the ‘four’ and ‘three’ boxes. Good thing I didn’t change those. That left me with the ‘one’ box. There was really only one option for that box, and that was putting a one in it.…

Whereas in elementary algebra expressions denote mainly numbers, in Boolean algebra they denote the truth values false and true. These values are represented with the bits (or binary digits) being 0 and 1. They do not behave like the integers 0 and 1, for which 1 + 1 = 2, but may be identified with the elements of the two-element field, for which 1 + 1 = 0 with + serving as the…
