To begin, the military is a wonderful career to think about. For starters you’re able to serve your country and able to explorer the world with these selected job opportunities, which is great and also exciding. Gabriel Adams explains that “When you join the military you will have access to the highest quality of training and opportunities for a lifetime career in a field you enjoy. You will have base pay, a variety of discounts, support for tuition in your chosen field and full medical insurance coverage.” (Oct 17, 2008). With every single minute in the service you will find that you can take the information you gained and take it further beyond you could imagine.

First of many reasons why others focus on joining the Marines, is that some are looking for that superior outcome on life serving for your country. Many others join because they find their selves confused about their feature and seeing what the Marines or any other branch can offer to them. “Ambitious, smart and motivated young men and women who want to be part of a prestigious organization are drawn to the Marine Corps ' reputation as America 's most elite fighting force.”(“Why the Marines?” 2010: 1). With joining this military branch, there are always wonderful benefits, including medical, dental, educational, and finical benefits that are attached to you once you sign up and make it through boot camp. The best way for all this to be explained is by Lifeasamarine “No matter the reason for their interest, the Marine Corps seeks out America 's best: young people who already have a solid foundation of character, as established by parenting or mentorship.” (“Why the Marines?” 2010:1) In order to join the Marines you still need to come to some sort of qualifications, some are age, physical, high school diploma or GED, and a certain core on the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. Though there maybe some other matters that may come in to factor when you’re joining, your recruiter

To predict caloric expenditure you can plug in a measured heart rate and calculate the predicted VO2 (L/min). Then using the predicted VO2 and an estimated thermal equivalent (4.825 kcal/LO2), you can estimate the caloric expenditure. Nonetheless, each individual’s heart rate varies. These can be attributed to gender differences, physical activity and physical training. So, if the person is of the same gender and is as healthy as you are and does the same amount of exercise then it could be possible to use their regression line to estimate your own caloric expenditure however the limitations would be possibly the difference in size of the lungs for the estimation of VO2 max. Weight would be important, as it is required to calculate the predicted caloric expenditure. However if your weight can be misleading because one can simply weigh more because they are taller, not because they are bigger. Height does not play such an important role. When you are taller, your body does need to pump more blood throughout the body. This means that they will pump more blood per beat but not that they would have a higher heart rate. It is important to remember that a linear relationship exists between…

This book covers the military doctrine that the Marine Corps proudly adheres to. In the course of bootcamp, MCT, and MOS school we are changed, molded, to become the fighting force we are today. During our time in the fleet we keep training to maintain a force of readiness. After our tour of duty, however long that may be, we bring our ethos out into the civilian world.…

    1. How does a false positive alarm differ from a false negative one? From a security perspective, which is least desirable? A false positive attack is where the system IDPS was alarmed but no attack ever occurred. The false negative is where an actual attack occurs and the IDPS isn’t alarmed at all. The least desirable would definitely be the false negative, if an attack does occur and the IDPS doesn’t even alarm well what’s the point in even having it if it isn’t going to alarm.…

Furthermore, what initially interested me in the naval service was my family's involvement in the military. Ever since I was a child, I was inspired to become a military officer knowing my father was a non-commissioned officer in the Coast Guard and when my sister commissioned into the Navy as an officer becoming head of the physician and medical department on Naval bases. I was then driven to pursue a similar ambition to strive towards serving my country in the Navy as a lifelong career. My father works for the Air Force and growing up around planes; I generated interest for flight and the science behind it. I want to receive education from one of the top rated engineering institutions in the…

I looked through many sources for this assignment; talked to a recruiter, discussed what my cousins went through in their own paths, studied the Marine Corp. website and etc. The source that I found most drawn to was the website; it answered all my questions whenever they popped into my head and answered questions I didn’t even have. The convenience of a website now is at your hands any time because of technology and I defiantly utilize this. The biggest question from my burning question was is this for me? I wondered that because every source I found said that Marines or any branch of the Army is not for everyone. The next information I looked for was how can I prepare myself so I succeed in whatever comes my way physically and mentally? Finally I asked what it is going to be like to make a career out of becoming a Marine.…

The reason I joined the Marines is to serve my nation, follow in my father’s footsteps and to help alleviate some college debt. That is the biggest motivator for me to do what I do. College has always been a goal and aspiration of mine ever since I could remember. With the career choice I have decided for myself a degree is required in order to do it. I would literally be wasting my time in the marines if I do not work on my degree at all. Earning my degree is important to me and I like having something to show all my hard work. Joining the marines had always been a goal of mine along with getting my degree. The Marines offer different ways to obtain college credit, with the opportunity to go to college as well. They have bills and tuition assistance to pay for those who…
