On February 12, 2010 a day I will never forget. I started my daily routines cooking and cleaning. Then all of a sudden I began to feel weak, my vision was blurry, I felt dizzy, and it felt as if my head was about to explode. When this happened I immediately called my primary doctor to schedule an appointment. I was really frightened and confused. At the time, I had no idea what was going on. My doctor did blood work and ran test to figure out why this happened.
My doctor later revealed to me that I was being diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I then began to question him what was that and he explained that it’s carbohydrate intolerance during pregnancy. I was shocked at the moment I could speak no more.
I then followed up an appointment with an OB/GYN (obstetrics and gynecology), after seeing them a few months later on July 30th at 11:13p.m. I was rushed to Archbold Memorial and delivered my baby boy, due to gestational diabetes; he stayed in the NICU for three months.
I can still remember hearing this soft cry that stole my heart, after seeing him go through such painful things, my two year old son is still here doing things way above average that children will do at his age. Gestational diabetes is a dangerous condition; it caused me to have high blood pressure and my son to be born three months early. If I could I would do it all over again because in the end there was one special
