Lady Brett Ashley Essay

In the book “The Sun Also Rises” is written by Ernest Hemingway in which he has explored the early 1920s and some of the values. In the book Hemingway has a created a character by the name of the Lady Brett Ashley. Brett is a woman who is different from the recent centuries that I have explored before. Brett is brought up in the time of the “Lost Generation”. Brett is in love with Jake but because Jake is unable to perform sexually Brett finds other partners to involve herself with on the physical level. But, Jake mean so much to her emotionally mentally and spiritually Jake is the one who she always goes to when she needs someone to talk lady Brett Ashley is one of the main characters and Hemingway's book. Lady Brett Ashley is a woman who
is trying to find love in all the wrong places. She has given herself to mean physically but has no means of being with them on intellectual and emotional level. The question was posed whether or not lady Brett Ashley is taking advantage of the different me and this she interacts with.
I would have to say yes she is taking advantage of them . I believe that lady bring Ashley is taking advantage of them because of the fact that she interacts with the men because no one can compare to the relationship that she had with Jake. Jake will always and forever be her one true love. Brett has no means to give her some emotionally in any of her encounters with men because of the fact that none of them are able to connect with her on the emotional, spiritual,and loving state of mind. Lady Brett and Jake connect again in a different way just because Jake is not able to perform sexually they have no choice but to connect on the emotional level. Jake loves lady brett with all his heart but he knows that she has some issues. Jake knows that lady Brett is not able to commit herself to one person it's been that way because she has been hurt so many times by other means before Jake. Jake and Brett met in a very odd way, Jake had been hurt in the war and Brett was a voluntary nurse she was able to help the men who were injured in the war. Jake and Brett begin talking and realize that they had a
connection. The connection was so strong that they could not stop talking to one another. No matter how far they went from each other they were always find a way to meet back up and make sure that they are ok.Brett is taking advantage of these mean because some of them actually want to be with her on the emotional and physical level with Jake comes first when it comes to her emotional a Brett is taking advantage of these men because some of them actually want to be with her on the emotional and physical level with Jake comes first when it comes to her emotional being. Lady Brett's character is not to be looked at and is a idol. Lady bread is used as a transition from the late 1800s to the early 1920s. The transition is being shown from a woman who used to stay in the house and tend to the children and the household cleaning but a lady right is exempt from these behaviors because of the shift in society during the early 1900s. Jake is in love with lady Brett because she's the only one who understands him. So, to conclude Lady Brett is not to be looked at as an example tone young women because she look for love in all the wrong places she is considered to be a lady of the night in our society.
