Lady Dai was discovered in a hill known as Mawangdui, in Changsha, Hunan, China. The remains of her body were stumbled on by workers digging an air raid shelter for a hospital in 1971 . As well as her tomb there also were two other bodies found, her husband and a young man said to be her son. She was the wife of King Li Cang.
