Lady Macbeth's Fall

William Shakespeare is widely regarded as one of the greatest literary figures of all time. One of his best pieces of work is the play Macbeth. The play follows a noble who kills his king in order to obtain the crown. This leads to a spiral of evil deeds and results in Macbeth’s death. A question raised of the play is what allowed this to happen to Macbeth. Macbeth’s corruption and tragic fall are due in part to Lady Macbeth’s evil influence and Macbeth’s own ambitions. However, nothing is more responsible than the manipulations of the witches.
Lady Macbeth played a key role in Macbeth’s tragic fall. Her ambition nourishes Macbeth’s corruption. For example, Macbeth is unsure if he should kill Duncan, as seen in the hallucination of the dagger.
