From Scene 3, Shakespeare shows us a character who acts against the reputation that has been built on him, and many could not be able to know how Lago managed to trick the audience by acting as if being honest yet when one decides, to be frank, should do so for an extended period of time. Some would try to imagine that Lago would have been honest in the past but decided to abandon the virtue later on in his life (William, 47). Lago vows that he will revenge by stating categorically that “there is a lot of jealousy that is so strong which would not be able to be cured by mere judgement.”
Third soliloquy
Further, in scene 2, Shakespeare has built Lago as one who works in devil religious practices. The argument can be supported by his quotation when he said that “I am not exactly what I am.” This actions should that Lago is against God and will always be taken to be a devil because o his actions the play. He makes prank promises that he is unable to fulfill as well as giving people stories about his life which he cannot be able to the owner with the aim of driving them to destruction.
