These soils are Sawmill silty clay loam and Marshan clay loam. I chose this location because my pasture runs into Plum Creek, which I will use Plum Creek as my water supply for my cows. Some suitability’s include drainage class, fence post depth and Cation Exchange Capacity. My fence post position on the eastern half of my land could provide potential problems. These areas have shrink swell clays and high potential frost action. However, I really think that I can put fence in these locations at the 36-inch depth, I will not have any problems because shrink swell clays shouldn’t affect the strength of the fence posts in the soil, in my opinion. Also, flooding could also be a potential problem, however 1152 soil has a low occasional flood rating. My pasture location runs into Plum Creek, which is pretty dry, but could potentially be a problem with heavy rains. Otherwise, my location for my pasture does not provide any other potential problems for having my beef herd on
