There are 8 landform regions in Canada and I think that the best place to hold the Olympics in Canada is at the Great Lakes- St Lawrence Lowlands region and not the Innuitian Mountains. But before I continue, you may be wondering, what is a landform region? A landform region is a large area composed of similar natural features.
Great Lakes- St Lawrence Lowlands
The Great Lakes- St Lawrence Lowlands is the smallest yet most populated region in Canada. The topography of the region was the end result of weathering and erosion from rivers of the nearby flat-early sedimentary rock. During the Paleozoic era, glacial erosion shaped the lakes into sedimentary rock. Withdrawing glaciers washed up large portions of sands, silts, and gravels as flat plains and rolling hills. Due to the Great Lakes, the climate is humid, the lakes provide the moisture in the air. The Great Lakes- Lawrence Lowlands is close to the equator which also makes the weather humid. Although it is uncommon during the summer, there is a chance of a flood if there’s an intense rainstorm. The soil in this region is very fertile, which allows many crops to be grown. The Great Lakes- St Lawrence Lowlands have a tolerable climate, food options, and a less chance for a natural disaster whereas in the Innuitian Mountains the climate in the summer is essentially winter in the Great Lakes- St Lawrence Lowlands, the Innuitian Mountains climate would be uncomfortable and unbearable for tourists who are used to a humid climate.
