What is religion? The word religion comes from the Latin word Religio , which means believing in a higher power. This higher power is usually a God, people are taught about God. There are set ways to worship and codes to live by. Not all religions have just one god some have many gods and others don’t have a god at all. So in many cases this definition doesn’t do any justice to all religions because there are different beliefs. Religion gives the believers the hope they need to challenge their own desires .when ever people get into trouble or have their deepest wishes to be solve, they pray. When they believe that god will help them to achieve their desires and also giving them a lot of confidence to challenge it by themselves. There are special cases where their dearest wishes often come true because the faith in god is so strong, it lets the brain keep making positive images and stimulates a power from the inside of the brain so their desire actually happens. There has been scientific proof; that if they keep reminding their problems to themselves by praying, they can focus a think more rationally, actually solve the problem.
It regulates the public order by offering the rules. Every religion has its own system of belief which the believers have to follow. For example Christians have to follow the Ten Commandments, which forbids crime and harm one another. I believe that the ten commandment s is more effective than law because people believe that god watches them all the time. So it helps society to keep its morality and civilization.
