Anyone who wants to have a better life for themselves or families should for sure have the opportunity to achieve it. "Everyone is the architect of his own fortune". There are always pros and cons when it comes to immigrating. The pro is that the Latino will probably get a better life in the United States than Mexico. The con is if too many Mexicans immigrates to the United States, then Mexico will lose labor, which will result in a very poor economy. In relation to the republican presidential candidate Donald Trump opinion about the Latinos he criticizes a lot for being a threat to the American society and that the Mexicans are rapist and only bringing crimes and drugs to America. But I don’t think so. Donald Trump is generalizing. Just because some Mexicans are rapist and bringing drugs and crimes to America that doesn’t make all Mexicans…
There were many immigrants that came to the beautiful landscapes of Wisconsin in the Late 1800’s and early 1900’s. With the improving transportation during this time encouraged large amounts of people to move West. Immigrants came by railroad, ship, or even horses with wagons. Milwaukee seemed to be where the majority of immigrants showed up to because of its accessibility and the many business opportunities in that area. The Germans were by far the most abundant while the Norwegians were second. Wisconsin has a very deep heritage of German ancestor, a lot of people identify themselves as having some sort of German in them. Most of these immigrants left because they were in search of an improved standard of living.…
All over the United States and Canada people are debating on how we should handle illegal immigrants. I believe that the U.S. and Canada should be more sensitive to the hardships of these undocumented workers for the following reason: undocumented workers are frequently hard working individuals who have no other means of supporting their families, these workers fill an important economic role, we can learn from these workers to not take our freedoms or privileges for granted.…
The system in which to integrate illegal immigrants is weak, and has been held off for to long. Because the Dream Act has been held off for so long it has not progressed and adapted as it should have already done. In my essay “The Dream” I explained a plan to improve the Dream Act for the years lost. The articles, “Children of Illegal Immigrants”, “Children of Illegal Immigrants Struggle when parents are deported”, “Lawmakers should pass the Dream Act” help to support my idea.…
433 days after the murder of Katie Steinle by Francisco Sanchez, an illegal alien due for his sixth deportation, sanctuary cities such as San Francisco continue to evade federal law. The continued existence of these municipalities violates numerous laws pertaining to and abiding by the United States Constitution under Article I, Section 8 and Article VI, Section 2, Clause 4.…
The article articulates that many young immigrants struggle to assimilate to the American culture. They find themselves under pressure with the different customs and beliefs of a new world. Therefore, it drives them to experiment and use substances they are not familiar with, such as prescription painkillers and heroin. It is not frequently that these teens understand the risk of addiction and neglect to realize the consequences. Robbins informs that of the 161 teenage immigrants currently attending support from the Dynamic Youth Community in Brooklyn, an adolescent treatment program; about 25 percent are from families who emigrated from Russia. However, in most of the situations, an adolescent immigrant does not navigate the world of treatment…
In the United States having fake or papers that are no longer valid is just as good as having no papers at all. Without the proper documentation, you do not have access to things such as obtaining driver licenses, access to public health systems, proper housing, education, banks, and employment. There are some immigrants who forge identity documentation to obtain access to most of these basic benefits. Unfortunately, this is extremely risky and many do not take this chance in fear of being deported or being sent to immigration detention centers, where there you are stripped of your human rights and treated inhumanely. Life as an undocumented immigrant is very hard. They cannot legally work in the US, therefore not being able to provide for…
In 2014, 66% of Hispanics ages from eighteen to twenty-four were enrolled in four year universities. Education plays a big role in the United States as well as economy. American citizens want America to be great again, and that is what Hispanics immigrants provide for this nation, education and economy. Immigrants provide valuable things for this nation. Immigrants should not be deported.…
Citizenship in a country has the ability to determine your right to live there by being able to work, vote, and pay taxes. The United States has a high rate of immigration, but even a higher rate on the amount that are undocumented. Narrowing to California, has a very diverse amount of immigrants but 60 percentage of the undocumented immigrants are Hispanic. More than half of the population of immigrants. Frequent situations for undocumented immigrants is deportation to acquire the pathway to citizenship. Deportation on the pathway to citizenship should not be an option for these undocumented immigrants for the reason that they have families here that can be affected by the procedure.…
In a present time, it became very popular to blame illegal immigrants in all-economical problems that we have in US. Some people blame them for not paying taxes, other for "living off the taxpayers." Can we blame on them? I believe that all immigrants who do not have the proper documents are not "welfare cheats" and are not "living off the taxpayers" and I will provide arguments to prove from the book “Food, Inc.” and my friend’s experience.…
Illegal Immigrants today in America are dealing with a more prevalent threat for being deported due to the presidential campaign of Donald Trump. When immigrants act out of order in society it exemplifies a stereotype implemented by ignorant people who have the false impression that their “murders, rapists and drug dealers”. As stated by Donald Trump in one of his interviews, this gives a bad name to all the hard working immigrants in America perusing the American dream. When we see individuals like Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez it helps personify the stereotypes ignorant people categorize immigrants with which doesn’t assist them in their circumstances.…
Although many believe that Mexican immigrants are only negative impacts on America, but many of Mexico's finest people come to the U.S: taking Mexico's next generation of renown lawyers, doctors, and scientists. It piques many immigrants interest to know that the United States has a more advanced educational system than Mexico. America shapes realistic dreams for those whom want to be successful lawyers, doctors, or world renowned scientist. The process may not be easy, but for many it is worth the risk. Without realizing, many leave behind towns and cities with shortages of jobs requiring a higher education. Primarily due to economic circumstances it is more likely one will just work at a ranch or in a store, and not many are able to obtain…
The fact that I came from a Chinese background and usually Asian parents are worried that their children are not learning enough, so they put me in this after school learning center where most of the kids are all basically Asian immigrants like me who struggles to learn English as their second language.…
A refuge is defined as a person who is outside or fled their own country and unwilling to return due to a well-founded-fear of being persecuted because of their race, religion, nationality, opinion etc. Since World War Two ended Australia has accepted more than 70,000 refugees and people in humanitarian need. The question is, should Australia continue to do so? According to the Universal Charter of Human Rights, “Everyone has the right to seek refuge in another country”. Refugees and Asylum seekers can’t wait for a proper refuge visa so they seek the aid of smugglers. Australia has enough space and land, yet they are refusing to do so which is inhumane.…
I clearly remember arriving in America for the first time when I was five. I was cold and scared. I was cold because it was December and just a few days away from Christmas. I was scared because I had no image of what my parents looked like. My brother and I were raised by our grandparents and relatives in Fujian, China. We were coming to America to reunite with our parents and start in a new environment. Not only was reuniting with our parents awkward for me, it remained awkward for a few weeks. It was like meeting strangers for the first time, but we had to live under the same roof right away in Chinatown Manhattan. I don’t remember the ice breaker or whether there were any for us, but what I do remember is having multiple babysitters because both my parents had to work and my brother had school.…
