With many powerful immigration figures and supporters, standing up for the innocent hard working immigrants who are in risk of being deported and separated from their families. That’s why when you look at the statistics of crimes committed in America the fewest crime rates derive from the illegal immigrant community. As stated in the NY criminal procedure law In S 220.50 Plea; entry of plea States that “Prior to accepting a defendant's plea of guilty to a count or counts of an indictment or a superior court information charging a felony offense, the court must advise the defendant on the record, that if the defendant is not a citizen of the United States, the defendant's plea of guilty and the court's acceptance thereof may result in the defendant's deportation, exclusion from admission to the United States or denial of naturalization pursuant to the laws of the United States” (NY laws, 2015). This case is the epitome of why illegal immigrants are given such a bad reputation, due to individuals like Mr. Lopez-Sanchez. It also shows how the judicial court and police department have different decisions to when apprehending a suspect. They don’t always conclude with the same decision and in this one they might have made the wrong decision for allowing him to walk away without any
