Job opportunities for lawyers are open as new-coming lawyers will fill the positions of retiring lawyers, also, job opportunities will open as a majority of lawyers are able to find numerous career paths thus leaving their jobs to the new –coming lawyers (The Government of Canada, 2015) However, very immigrants fill these opening positions, the National Household Survey Data shows that immigrants filling the position of a lawyer are lower in comparison to other occupations (The Government of Canada, 2015). A number of students with law degrees is increasing and the market cannot compensate for all the graduates, according to the provincial government Relance survey, the placement for a law graduate is much lower than the overall placement rate for an undergraduate student (The Government of Canada, 2015). As more students are graduating with law degrees it is expected that competition will increase for this particular occupation. In addition, the relationship between supply and demand of lawyers is shown through job incomes, for example, the average income of a lawyer increased 2% in 1990-1995 when there was a weak demand for lawyers, unlike in 1995-2005 where the income increased 70% as there was a stronger demand for lawyers, also, the average income of lawyers increase 0.1% in 2005-2010 this shows that the employment is increasing in comparison to demand(The Government of Canada, 2015). It is clear that demand affects the job opportunities of lawyers, in short, job opportunities as a lawyer increase in economic growth. For example, as the economy is booming and more people have jobs they are making more money that they will invest in their business or property, however, one may encounter legal disputes in which lawyers are needed thus as the economy is booming so is the job opportunities
