What is the author’s rationale for selecting this topic? Does he build a strong case? The authors concentrate on the effects that transformational leadership has on the relationships of diverse team members and the performance of the team. The authors demonstrate this premise by demonstrating numerous references to past and current studies, as well as this study. “Intellectually stimulating leaders encourage their teams to welcome and take advantage of diverse knowledge bases and perspectives (Bass & Riggio, 2006), even if the voiced views deviate from the general consensus.” The authors also demonstrated that age, gender, nationality, and education as factors contributing to team performance under the direction of a transformational leader.
Purpose of the study (Article 2) To determine the relationship between transformational leadership behavior and the performance of financial service teams from financial institutions (bank branches) from banks in the United States and Hong Kong. The authors determined that team values are an influencing factor, which has an effect on the team member’s response to the transformational leader, and in turn to the team’s performance.
