The purpose of this paper is to show how leadership, teambuilding, and communication affect an organization. The organization that was researched for this paper is Home Choice Partners. Also, this paper will examine traditional, contemporary, and emerging leadership theories in which will describe the most appropriate leadership characteristics in terms of leadership style. Another we will discuss interpersonal forms of power, showing how these characteristics impact organizational performance. Additionally, organizational stressors will be examined to determine their likely impact on organizational performance as well as how they can be addressed. Finally, potential sources of conflict within the group or work team and communication barriers will also be discussed to show how they impact this organization.

Traditional, Contemporary, and Emerging Leadership Theories
There are many different types of leadership styles from traditional, contemporary and emerging theories. As stated in Nelson and Quick (2013), “Leadership in organizations is the process of guiding and directing the behavior of people in the work environment.” (p.193) In keeping with the traditions of the past, traditional leadership is defined as a style where power is given to the leader. The traditional styles of leadership are autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire. An autocratic leader is considered to be an authoritarian. They possess the power to dictate their willon employees and will not hesitate to do so if needed.
