Leading By Example Research

Lead by example : Reality or Fiction

We all have heard the term "lead by example" and to me many people let the true meaning bypass them. Leading my example isn’t just leading by example its setting the standards, either high or low for everyone subsequent to you .When you set standards that's leading by example. A prime example would be when we are in math learning a new concept the teacher teaches the concept and she gives us an example to give us a visual. This example, for most of us is what we look up to when we begin doing the work on our own. So therefore the teacher is leading by example .An effective leader is what they call a person that “leads by example”.

A true leader possesses the capability of leading by example because they
make others feel like they can do it too. Before a leader leads he/she is also capable of managing their self . Every leader must be able to manage their self because unless you do , not only will you bring down the one that is following you but you will also tear yourself apart. You can never lead anyone else and bring them to their full potential without being able to uphold your self. The blind cannot lead the blind or they will both fall into a pit.(Luke 6:39). So as a leader understand that you must also be able to humble your self so others can learn from you and so you can learn from others. Humility and sincerity are the keys to becoming a effective leader. Mohanji said “ Success without humility leads to a bloated ego and eventual downfall” .When you are humble you are able to grasp everything you need to become an effective leader, success and prosperity will compliment those effective leadership skills.

Knowing you are a leader is one thing but conducting yourself as one is what sets you apart from others. An effective leader not only sets the standards , they also do everything in their power to maintain the standards. You cant be a leader one day and go do the contrary the next day , that’s not maintaining standards and that’s not setting your self apart. Its best to just keep doing what you did in the beginning so you can end well , all eyes are on you when you lead by example ;one wrong move and you could condemn yourself. But we all know some people may get jealous and use negative propaganda against you but you need to look at it as an opportunity to enforce what you represent(an effective leader). If someone is falsifying things about you , conduct your self as a leader, lead by example, do what you know will be beneficial now and in times to come because if not you will fall and fail.

In conclusion I say that leading by example is very much a reality.
Leading by example is setting the standards for those subsequent to you. When you set those standards you become a leader and that leader becomes an example. We have many people around us and some of us ourselves set the standards which is the example that we're leading by. I would have to disagree with someone that says leading by example is a fiction because you face the reality of it everyday. Our parents or guardians that raise us, were and still is leading by example. We look up to them when we are in need . Your manager at your work place is leading by example he is teaching and training you so you can be great ,just like him. Jesus was leading by example because he told his disciples to watch and learn for him ;when he isn’t there, they can be just like him. He was their example that they followed when he was gone. These are just a few examples of the reality of leading by example that we face each and every day . In all those examples someone was leading and someone was leading .You have to learn to humble yourself and learn to be sincere as an effective leader because what you do others will do too, they don’t have anything else except your example
