Course: SS211 The 1960’s Reshaping the American Dream
The three people I interviewed were people that I worked with at my place of employment. I choose to do it this way because I felt that I would get a more broad understanding of how well people know about the Cold War. The three people I interviewed were Tracy, Kathy and Kelly. I asked the same question to all the interviewees and those question were as follows: What words or phrases come to mind when you think of the term Cold War? Who were the parties involved in the Cold War? Can you name any key events that we mainly associate with the Cold War? I thought beforehand that it would be good to study up and a little on the time period on the topic of the Cold War before interviewing others so with that being said I found out through my research that the Cold War was between mainly two super power which were that of Russia and the United States. At the same time there was war going on in Vietnam with the North Vietnamese and the United States as well as conflict with Korea. The United States and Russia began an arms race during this time period in preparation for an all-out never seen before war between the two largest superpowers on planet earth. Altogether my analysis of the Cold War is that it was between the United States and the Soviet Union or Russia to control the world and inflict there economical and Governmental ideas on the rest of the world. This time period was roughly between 1945 and 1991 or some historians say between 1945 and 1991 or when the Soviet Union collapsed. As I mentioned above I asked three question and I know if I was going to ask these question then I needed to answer them first.
