In our interpretation, the main character, portrayed by Mikayla, receives a ring, an important family heirloom from her parents. She also receives a note that, in essence, asks that she show the responsibility that is appropriate to obtain such a gift. Later at school, one of her friends, played by Sahil, attempts to persuade her to ditch class. She, along with a friend portrayed by Daniel, are initially skeptical about leaving the school, but they ultimately make the decision to leave the school. Upon leaving the school, the girl fails to notice her ring sliding off her finger, distracted by her abrupt departure. She enjoys herself while relaxing with her friends, but in the end realizes the fault in her decisions after her realization of the lost ring, and the disappointment from her parents that will come.The detrimental effects her decision had on her life are similar to the cause and effect shown in the original poem, in which the narrator expresses pain due to previous actions.
