Letter To Eragon Bromsson
Teddy Cange 4/1/13 Period 2 Independent Reading Assignment
March 27, 2013

To Eragon Bromsson:
After reading how you killed the Ra’zac I wonder how you felt after getting retribution from the Ra’zac at Helgrind after they killed your uncle Garrow and how you saved Katrina, but left Sloan to rot in Helgrind for the rest of his life. It shocked me that you would pass judgment like so and not let him have a chance to defend himself.
While you were in Ellesmera and Rhunon was constructing Brisingr through your body where you aware of your surroundings at the time where you not in touch with your body at

On that note, how will you be able to fight and command the troops of the Varden when you are unable to fight in the battles? Though I admire the fact that your still try to fight with your other hand but you do not fight as well as you usually do and encounter multiple brushes with death.
Sincerely,

To King Orrin:
Towards the end of the book you have some problems with the Varden and its enemies. At the battle of Feldster you encounter an enemy that does not feel pain and there for cannot be killed. I admire the fact that you figured out that you how to defeat this enemy by cut their heads off.
Also I read there are also assassins trying to kill you. I find it daunting that you would not have security even after an attempt on life has occurred; so I ask you why did you not get security to protect you after the assassination attempt?
I read that you also had a problem with the Varden because of the money that I takes from Surda to fund its war effort. They also are bringing the attention of the Empire and you fear that you will be attacked soon if the Varden keep attacking the Empire.
Sincerely,

Teddy Cange

This story was very odd but was a good book. The fiction of this story is tied to reality in a very unique way, that is very effective in making the story not feel very fantasy. This feature made the book truly more enjoyable. Other writing techniques like not having any foreshadowing. The book keeps you guessing until the very end. Even within the story parts that I had never seen coming, Like releasing the prince. Allowing Alix to run away and eventually return on curiosity.…

Sophocles’ age old play Antigone is about a young girl who fights King Creon’s unjust law for the burial of her brother who was deemed a traitor to their town. With the act of civil disobedience both Antigone and Creon strive for their own justice but in the end meet their fate. A more modern way of civil disobedience would be the strategy that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used. The steps a person can use to change a law they find unjust are explained in his essay “The Power of Non-Violence” and “The Letter to Birmingham Jail”. Martin Luther King’s theory has four major steps: first finding an injustice exists, negotiation, self-purification and direct action. Although Antigone’s actions against Creon do not completely conform to Marin Luther…

The book was very enlightening and interesting. Although it was gruesome and gory in many parts of the book, I enjoyed reading it overall. I especially enjoyed the less formal writing style and diction of the author Mary Roach. It almost seemed like colloquial language and she was having a conversation with me. This made…

In all books, long as well as short, there is a character that stands above the rest. This character must demonstrate high moral character and set an example for the rest of the novels cast. Another name for this super being, is a hero, a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities (Webster). In Twains novel, Huckleberry Finn, it is evident that Huck is the hero of the novel. The next day woke me by the sound of gun fires and our men yelling waking us up. We grabbed our gear and hid behind the rough hills as a shield. It started, as frightened as I already was my friend had just got killed by the blazing bomb. I didn’t know how to feel about it in this rush of survival, so I ran as the next bomb was coming my way. But what could I do about it? I have to protect myself as well. I didn’t put my life at stake I was forced like all the other soldiers. My life is at risk and if I survive I will go home with proud survival guilt. As I had just lost focus of what was happening because I was so shocked thinking this is what war really is; a gun manages to pass through my arm as if I’m not weak already. I fall down to the ground with the scent of dirt southing (soft rustling) through my nose. A blurred vision of my troops fighting was the only other sense apart from the sound of air raid sirens and drones. I can’t believe no one has noticed me, they probably have but don’t…

I slashed the soldier time after time. Gashing his body multiple times, but it seemed to not affect him. I was fatigued and about to give up when I turned to see Alyieb coming behind me. He swung at the giants leg and in an instant he fell to the ground. In shock, I looked around to see a field covered with viking blood. I realized we had won the war and with all of my fellow fighters watching, I stabbed my sword straight through the heart of the enormous viking soldier. The next thing I remember is sitting on top of a crowd of my people, along with Alyieb. They were cheering and carried us all the way to our destination. As I settled my children into our new hut, the general approached Alyieb and I and notified us that we were chosen as the new King and Queen of Bernicia. It has been a few months now and I am happily married to King Alyieb and we have 5 beautiful kids, along with my own. Everything was wonderful until I got a letter from a viking soldier. It was a threat from the son of the giant viking soldier that I killed, stating that he would return with revengeful intentions. It seems that another war is on its…
