learn. To me this means, that a liberal arts college doesn’t just teach. That the institution values the education over the test scores. Unlike the public school systems, these types of institutions put an emphasis on the learning process and making sure that the student leave with the knowledge to be successful in their career. In addition to these great points, a liberal education enhances a student's wisdom and faith. Due to the current condition of our society having the wisdom to make good decisions and having faith to believe that everyone will work out is so essential. As stated on the website for Wheaton College “This is one of the most important aspects of a liberal education, for gaining wisdom is one of the highest callings from God. Throughout the educational journey you will learn to see who you are and what you need to modify to become a better human being.” This quote stuck me to the core, and after reading it several times the significance of infusing wisdom and faith in a college education weighs heavy on my mind.
Furthermore the article emphasizes three other points about the importance of a liberal arts education. First it says that a liberal arts education allows students to see things as a whole. Second it says that the education contributes to student’s happiness, and lastly that it makes students better teachers. Although I feel like all of these points should have a significant impact on one's choice to attend a liberal arts institution. I feel like learning how to think, be a better learner, and enhancing our wisdom and faith should have a significant impact on a student's decision about which insulation that will continue their education at. Personally, I hold these three values very close to my heart. It is my wish for every student to consider these six points among many others when choosing a higher education institution. An education decision about your future is the best decision an individual can
make.
