Libyan/Syrian Conflict
Libya and Syria: A Crisis Engineered

The situations that occurred in Libya and are presently occurring in Syria are much distorted in majority of the population’s eyes, with loose details and misinformation being preached by politicians, reported by the mainstream media, and discussed internationally. One key guide to being informed and understanding the events that took place is to realize that living in a certain part of the world shifts your views and the influences apart of that culture or society may distort ones thoughts on the crisis that took place overseas in the middle eastern/African countries of Libya and Syria. Grasping the conflict with an open mind and conducting research, one can acquire suppressed information that’s specifically meant to remain shy of the popular topics being debated in the world of the media and in openly discussed politics internationally. Through numerous research sources, the main point will be to show and prove that intervention in the Libya crisis and the Syria crisis are an extremely dangerous idea and are backed by imperialistic views and the desire for power. Though these rebellions that have been occurring can have a clear cut purpose to remove their benevolent dictators, Gaddafi or Assad, they have merged into western backed forces consisting of extreme Islamist views and goals to implement Sharia law. With the main stream media’s absence to report truth and valid information on these events, many people have become one sided not understanding the views from the other side and have been fed lies with the appearance of truth. The crisis or rebellion that is occurring in Syria is similar to the one in Libya, except that Syria had a much longer time period to prepare for an event like this where as Libya had minimal time. When comparing the two, it is clear that both occurrences had very similar motives and funds. The people backing the rebels in Libya are the same people backing the rebels in Syria and the rebels

Since, September 1, 2011, the United States has gone to extreme measures to not only fight terrorism but prevent it too. Under federal law, there are now criminal and civil penalties for anyone giving “material support” to a foreign terrorist organization (FTO). In Holder vs. Humanitarian Law Project, the Supreme Court accepted a very broad definition of what constitutes “material support.” The Court essentially held that one is guilty of providing “material support” if the aid provided to an organization may somehow get into the hands of an FTO. This becomes an issue for the United States government when we give money to the Free Syrian Army (FSA), as we tend to forget these rebels are fighting alongside terrorist organizations. Specifically, we have no way of knowing if the money…

The article, “Coalition Vows To Supply Syrian Opposition,” by The Associated Press [1] speaks of the developments that are happening in Syria concerning the Syrian Uprising (2011-ongoing), which is part of Arab Spring. Arab Spring was when a wave of independence movements against totalitarian governments in the Middle East began to break out across the Arabic states. Egypt is one of the few that has been liberated from its totalitarian rule from Honsi Mubarek, who was forced to step down by the Egyptian people, and their efforts towards supporting and/or taking part in demonstrations, protests, or attacks on/against the state's totalitarian rulers. The current dictator of Syria is President Bashar al-Assad.…

I can’t come to school or go to work without listening the international news. Every morning, rather than getting something to eat for breakfast I turn on the TV and flip through the channels between CNN, BBC or Aljazeera to watch the news about Syrian civil war. The Syrian civil war is an ongoing conflict that’s happening in current time. The problem started in early spring of 2011 within the context of “Arab spring” protest and nationwide demonstrations against the policy of the Syrian government. Although the United States of America has a policy of intervention and involvement in country like Syria, they should not do it because it could increase the civil war even more, it could make even more people immigrate and it will save the lives…

There were 2 society groups within Syria. There was a group of protesters who spread their protests throughout the country with the use of tanks, helicopters and artilleries, and a group from the Assad Regime, which ran under the control of Syrian President Bashar el-Assad.
