Lies are so powerful that they outweigh the truth. The reason for this is, because truths and lies walk hand in hand, they are together. The difference between them is like a spilt second. People won’t lie so dramatically that it is unbelievable, they will lie so close to the truth that you won’t even realise it’s a lie. This is the reason why a lie can get half way around the world before the truth can even out its pants on.
Truth is something that is not disturbed by troubles, obstructions or impediments. It is something that remains constant whether it is in future, present or past. It has real existence. It is beyond time, space and course. It can’t be hidden. It can’t be changed.
But one thing we need to remind ourselves about again is that before truth gets a chance to put its pants on, lies get halfway around the world.
A very imperative question that we need to ask ourselves is, “why is that statement true?” perhaps it’s because lying is so much easier then telling the truth. Sometimes it is so easy that it seems natural to lie and unusual to tell the truth, pretty ironic.
Research has shown that at least 95% of lies never get discovered. Lying is a skill which people learn to do at a very early age. If you think about it, your first lie was probably at the age of 5, to get out of trouble. Thus lying to get out of trouble is very common.
Something very interesting that I learned was we are taught to rather lie and preserve someone’s feelings, then to tell the truth and hurt their feelings. I am pretty sure you have heard these words before, “just tell grandma you like the _____ she gave you.” Now wonder why there is no truth left in the world.
Because we are taught to lie from such a young age, eventually you lie without awareness or thought or even planning. Test yourself… count how many times you want to lie in one
