Whether it be the stress that it burns off from getting my excess energy burnt off, or the confidence in myself it gives me that limits my social-anxiety. I honestly wish I had gotten into lifting weights to this extent earlier in my life due to it helping with my social anxiety. My social anxiety is the biggest contributor to my stress levels other than the fear of failing. This journal entry assignment has caused me to understand how much it has helped my stress levels. Before this assignment I had not looked within myself to see how is has helped. Writing about it in these journal pages has helped flush out the thought of how it helps. As I have mentioned, my accounting courses I am taking this semester are the two hardest in the accounting curriculum. With me having to plan five hours of time to do homework between each class, I have enjoyed planning times to lift weights right before starting. I have been using it as way to clear and ready my mind and make my body less restless. I will be happy when I complete these two courses (hopefully passing them). I plan on to continue lifting weights as a de-stressor. Some of these days I plan for lifting weights will get replaced with hikes or trying to get back into running. Either way the effect of burning off energy that stresses me will happen. I have enjoyed this assignment of journalizing my thoughts about lifting weights as a de-stressor.
