Livi Creative Writing
I was barely twelve years old when I first met Livi. She stood under the tree patiently, beckoning me with a large, red bow wrapped around her. Her screen gleamed with pride as she watched a look of excitement fill my face. Awestruck by her beauty, I gently enclosed her in my hands before racing up the stairs. For the next few months, my protectiveness continued, and I spent almost every waking moment with Livi. She was beside me to wake me in the morning, chat with me during school, and entertain me in my spare time. Her rings and buzzes in my pocket were a constant reminder of her admirable support and reliability. Little did I know of the overly-attached, self-destructive personality that Livi would soon possess. As the months passed and the initial excitement of my new friend dissipated, I became less attached. I soon began going to friends’ houses and leaving Livi at home as I no longer deemed her important. I would often misplace her under the couch or in my desk drawer, completely forgetting about the friend that had once been so close to me. Livi, however, …show more content…
It was Christmas Eve, and joyous excitement filled the house, but Livi was immune. Walking into the kitchen with her clutched firmly in my right hand, I felt an incredible force pulling her to the ground. Unable to sustain my grip, each finger slipped off her metal body, and she hurled herself toward the floor. When she impacted the ground, her screen shattered like a mosaic vase that had fallen from its perch. After my jaw closed and face regained its color, I hurried to tell my mom of about the incident. Surprisingly, she did not deride me for the unfortunate mishap. She smiled reassuringly and told me that I could get her screen replaced. However, the problem would never be resolved; more than just my phone was broken that

We reached The Dalles today. This is our last stop to Oregon city and this is going to be the most dangerous part of the whole trip. We have to take the Barlow Road around Mt. Hood. The road is very messy. There are big rocks guarding the road. Sticks and broken wagon pieces are getting stuck in the wagons. On top of that, everyone is getting sick and have no energy to move the wagon and walk up the steep hill and walking through the narrow paths are hard because we can't walk on the side to hold the wagon up. The oxen are getting too tired to walk anywhere and the other families with mules keep stopping and that makes us run behind on schedule. Exploring Lima was lucky for all of us. All of the journeys can take 100 miles a day which is a lot of time waste. I had to punish one of my crew members because he was no help to all of us so I had to beat him up which wasn’t pretty because I really didn’t want to do this. Lorraine recalls that she and Larissa were best friends. She thought that they were compatible; they were similar and that is why the two got along so well. However, Senior points out scenes and some thoughts by Lorraine that prove that Larissa and Lorraine were two very different people. After Lorraine failed to put the nail in the pain tree, Larissa said, “Maybe people like you don’t need the pain tree” (Senior 317). Larissa always saw the separation, even in the past. Lorraine, however, was caught off guard when she was younger because she never really gave much thought as to how she was much more privileged in comparison to Larissa. To Lorraine as a child, everyone was equal. In response to Larissa’s words, Lorraine said, “It was the only time I felt uncomfortable with her” (Senior 317). She was so uncomfortable because this was the very first time Lorraine truly understood that she and Larissa were different. As Lorraine got older, she began to realize who she was in relation to Larissa and the others like her. Lorraine began to realize that her friendship with Larissa was not what she remembered it to be. Larissa cared for Lorraine and the two had good times but it was Larissa’s job to make Lorraine happy. As usual with Marissa Meyer, this book is great, even better than her last one. It really goes in depth into the villain of the series. Marissa Meyer does an fantastic job of making you pity, Levana, the villain. All Levana ever wanted was love, and she's never received it. Especially not from her family. Her craving for this drives her to do horrible things, such as killing her own niece. I was slightly surprised that she wasn't the one who killed Chanary, her sister. She supposedly died of a lung related illness.…

In other words, never sit down to write until you have thought long enough and hard enough about one subject to have an opinion about it—an opinion that you believe in and want to share, one that you can defend logically and honestly. Most writing skills are relatively easy to learn, but it is pointless to learn them—in fact, you will find it almost impossible to learn them—unless you have learned the first rule, the unbreakable rule, of essay writing:…
