She was said to be murdered two hours before Andrew, even though Andrew was found first. Abby was upstairs in her and Andrew’s bedroom. Andrew was downstairs on the couch in the living room. Abby was said to be murdered first because she could go unnoticed longer, as where if Andrew was murdered first, he would not have been hard to find because he was in the living room. (prairieghosts.com) The third line of the nursery rhyme is: “And when she saw what she had done.” This line is just stating that she realized she had killed her stepmother. After realizing she had killed her, she goes downstairs and kills her father. The fourth and final line of the nursery rhyme says: “She gave her father forty-one.” This line says that Lizzie took the same ax she killed her stepmother with, and killed her father. Her father was Andrew Borden. The statement that is wrong with this line is that she did not hit her father 41 times, the reports says he was only hit 11 times. …show more content…
Lizzie said the dress was stained with paint and was of no use. It was this testimony that Judge Blaisdell decided to charge Lizzie with the murder of her father and she was taken into custody. She was arraigned that following day and pleaded not guilty. She was then taken to the Taunton Jail which had facilities for women prisoners. The next trial, she was charged with three murders: the murder of her father, the murder of her step-mother, and the murder of both of them. The case was turned over to the grand jury and she was found not guilty. (prairieghosts.com) Over 100 years have passed since the murders in Massachusetts and the murders are still “unsolved.” People still have a fascination for the events surrounding the murders of Abby and Andrew Borden. No single theory has ever been regarded as the “correct one,” and every writer seems to have a different take on the murders or a “favorite culprit.” Who can look at a picture of her, always slightly smiling, and wonder what secrets she carried to the grave with her? No one will ever know the truth about the unsolved case of Lizzie

All of the chaos that Abigail caused started with one thing: Abigail wanted revenge on Elizabeth Procter. Abigail was Elizabeth’s serving girl until she was fired because she was sleeping with Elizabeth’s husband, John. Abigail was still in love with John and sought out to get rid of his wife so she could then take her place. She first drank chicken blood while she was in the woods to try to kill Elizabeth. However, it didn’t work and once the town found out about this, she said Tituba made her do it. Tituba was arrested along with the other “witches” that Abigail and Betty listed in their confession. Abigail saw how easy it was to condemn those innocent women and thought she could do the same to Elizabeth. Mary Warren, John and Elizabeth’s servant, had made a doll one day in court for Elizabeth. Abigail saw this doll and took note of the needle that Mary placed in the doll’s stomach for safe keeping. Soon after the…
