never weighed more than 64 pounds. Her parents were the only people that treated her normally. Her fame comes from a ridiculing video with footage of her that was uploaded to YouTube called “THE WORLD’S UGLIEST WOMAN”. She had tried to raise her self confidence all of her life, but that completely destroyed her emotional stability, leading her to what her father told her “Be happy or give up.”. The video had reached millions of views with thousands of comments against her. Lizzie is our hero because she has stayed strong. With a positive attitude, she chose to be happy and persistent rather than give up in the fight.“Velasquez stands strong as an anti-bullying activist.” Says Susan D James, a writer for Today. She has inspired many people, teaching them that “Your accomplishments will be your best revenge.”, “Don’t be afraid to have goals and dreams.”, and to, “Have your one good cry, pick your chin up, smile, and move on to the positive.”(LifeHack.org).
Through all of the pain and discouragement she has plowed through and stayed cheerful, managing to touch the lives of the people around her and people hearing her story. Lizzie is truly one of a kind and will continue to fight for herself and others like her. She is amazing in her own way and is persistent for what she believes in, making her a hero for us. The definition of a hero correlates with Lizzie because she is inspirational, determined, and trying to make the world better.
She was bullied since she was a young child and has always kept her eyes for the sky. She has worked for both her confidence and for the riddance of bullying, getting closer to her goal with every passing year. Lizzie inspired people to do the right thing, no matter how discouraging people are, and build off of their negativities. Keeping her mission in mind Lizzie Velasquez has also been supported by her devoted parents, several other famous people, and well known groups. All of these people have been touched by this unyielding woman and her ongoing quest. With all of these people joining in the fight to end bullying, there are still heartless people out there, and the statement remains. Join
