Loara High School Persuasive Speech

I’m sure many of you remember that a couple of weeks ago an app called ogle was very popular. One day Loara high school was threatened on that app. Some students said they had guns and threatened to shoot all the students in their school, so the school went on lockdown. I remember I was afraid for the students from Loara, for someone's son who attended loara, someones daughter, someones cousin, someones friend, someone's niece, someone's nephew, I was afraid for anyone's loved one who attended Loara. I couldn’t imagine this happening to a school so near me. If it was happening there what makes you think it wouldn't happen to our school? We have all been in the situation where we have been on a lockdown, and it is truly terrifying because we
School shootings are not the only types of school violence. Do you enjoy feeling unsafe in a place where you are supposed to be learning and prepared for your future? Then you need to say no to bullying, no to fistfights, no to theft, and no to any type of behavior that includes violence. We need to fight to stop school violence.

The only way we can stop this behavior is to get schools to do something and apply stronger security measures. The school of Columbine was never secured for their massacre, if they would have been secured many lives would have been saved. Schools can not simply wait for there to be another massacre, they need to take a stand and do something to prevent
This is effective because it keeps the students and teachers safe. If you see a police officer in your neighborhood it would make you feel safe right? Then why not have someone to protect you in school. Because of this school violence has gone down 20 percent since 1998 when these schools began having safety agents.
The National Education Association stated in their Safe Schools Manual that schools should close the campus during lunch. This means that no one will be able to leave the campus or come inside. This means that no potential killers will enter the school. This will cause one less violence tragedy.
Throughout the school day, the school keeps the door open and asks any visitors to go into the office. Schools keep their doors open welcoming anyone. This is just an open door welcoming violence. Schools should have special technology such as camera audio systems and electric door systems. Cameras give the school more control for what is happening on campus. All the people who want to enter school should be checked on camera and if identified, can be let in, if not, they will not be given access to the school. This gives us control of who comes into our school. If Sandy Hook would have used these tactics, the school would not have been able to identify the killer because he was not part of the school. Therefore, he would have never gone inside the school
