INTRODUCTION
We as a group of four people will be writing on the relevant theories of communication as it relates to health and social care settings. Our scripts will centre on the following basic communication tools, starting from the concept of communication, relevant skills, theories and methods of dealing with inappropriate interpersonal communication. Our case study is included as an appendix
DEFINITION AND CONCEPT OF COMMUNICATION
Human life is centred with a lot of activities, ranging from biological to social, due to the quest for adequate understanding of this activities, humans found out that they most interact and have an understanding of them self and their environment which eventually lead to interaction and understanding of various channels of discovery called communication links. This fact invariable brought us to a wider definition of communication. Reference – there should be a reference after each paragraph
Communication could be defined as the means of conveying meaningful information. Communication could also be regarded as the dissemination of information from one source to the other. In this case where there are directly quotes you should use quotation marks and include a page number. Communication requires a sender, message and an intended recipient, although the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender`s intention to communicate at the time of communication. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. Communication process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of the sender.
If communication is to be effective, people must be able to express themselves clearly and to understand each other. Communication is ineffective when barriers prevent people expressing themselves or understanding others.
