London, England is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Many tourists come from all over the world just to see this beautiful city. However, London was completely destroyed in 1940, during World War II. Shortened from the German Blitzkrieg, “The Blitz”, was known as the bombing in Great Britain. There were over 100 tons of explosives dropped in Great Britain. This was during the time from September 7, 1940 to May 19, 1941. (The Blitz”). Luftwaffe attacked London 71 times. The Luftwaffe was the official name of the German Air Force (“Luftwaffe”). However, the Luftwaffe weren’t the only ones who targeted London. Hitler also targeted London. He targeted London to get Britain’s attention, but his main goal was to get rid of large numbers
